Launches Operations at ‘UNZEN HANZUIRYO’ Inn in Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Starting April 1, 2024

In the beautiful Unzen area of Nagasaki Prefecture, often referred to as a ‘summer resort above the clouds,’ stands the ‘UNZEN HANZUIRYO,’ established in 1992.
Spread across a vast  abut 1.65 acres property enveloped by majestic nature, this ryokan boasts a collection of just eight detached rooms, totaling fourteen, surrounded by a Japanese garden that beautifully reflects the changing seasons. Crafted over three years by artisans from Kyoto, these detached rooms feature traditional sukiya-zukuri architecture. Among them, two special rooms, each on a single floor, offer a lavish experience with Japanese-style rooms, living areas, bedrooms, as well as amenities like open-air baths, saunas, and home bars, ensuring a luxurious retreat. Embrace the tranquility and spaciousness of these private sanctuaries, each exceeding 250 square meters, as you immerse yourself in the serenity of nature.
Hansuiryo’s luxurious hospitality has been recognized, earning it a five-star rating as accommodation and an additional one-star rating for its cuisine in the ‘Michelin Guide Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki 2019 Special Edition.’ This simultaneous recognition in both accommodation and cuisine categories marks the second such achievement in Japan.
